While primarily an event for sophisticated private investors, Mello continues to attract members of the institutional fund management community, taking part in investor panels or watching from the audience.

The rise of passive funds over traditional active managed fund strategies has not been lost on either the issuer or investor communities. Retail trade flows have risen to account for 5% of FTSE stocks and 29% of small caps.
